ATLAS SHRUGS' PAM GELLER, FAMILY UNDER INCREASED DEATH THREATS--ASKING FOR OUR HELP--YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO

***Before reading this post, keep in mind that this could happen to you too.

Pam Geller, owner-publisher of Atlas Shrugs, is reporting that she has been receiving death threats against her and her children in the past. But as the Ground Zero Mosque issue heats up--thanks to Geller and Spencer--the death threats have increased at an alarming rate.

Because of these threats, Geller is forced to increase her security, and it's not cheap. Geller is asking for our help to assist in defraying these additional, and burdensome, security costs.

Please consider making any donation that you can afford--be it big or small; it will help a great deal and Geller can continue with her fight--a fight that benefits us all--against the Jihad that is being waged against our nation.

MAKE YOUR DONATION HERE--THANK YOU.

HARRY REID'S LAKE TAHOE--"THE PLAN" TO SAVE IT FROM ECONOMIC DESTRUCTION

Whenever I get the chance to point out that Nevada's economy is going down the progressive drain, I relish the opportunity.

Lake Tahoe, like Las Vegas and Reno, is suffering through our ongoing economic freefall. But, according to some, there's good news on the horizon, because a study suggests that Tahoe needs to shift away from gambling--the economic engine of Tahoe--to a more eco-friendly economy.

These folks refer to this as "eco or geotourism." In other words, a lot of yoga festivals with music. This is the plan to save the Lake Tahoe region. Can't you just hear the cash registers ringing?

"If the Tahoe Basin economy must shift – as a recently unveiled study suggests – from relying on gamblers to appealing to environmentally conscious tourists, events such as the Wanderlust Yoga & Music Festival are its future." --continue reading.

Here's my plan: On November 2nd, go to your polling station and vote for Sharron Angle. Then, go down ticket and vote out every last one of these progressive democrats and weak, rino republicans, and then, and only then, will Nevada have a fighting chance at survival.

ECONOMIC DEPRESSION: DEFINING WHAT IT IS

I was just wondering when you declare a depression, or does the govt just continue on with the endless recession declaration. "Summer of Recovery" and all that. What constitutes a depression? Here's a look--you decide if we're in one. Obama says we're not, that we're well into the recovery phase but that it will take time, you know. Obama lies most of the time at a 180 degree angle. So, I wonder...

"In economics, a depression is a sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity in one or more economies. It is a more severe downturn than a recession, which is seen by economists as part of a normal business cycle.

"Considered a rare and extreme form of recession, a depression is characterized by its length, and by abnormally large increases in
unemployment, falls in the availability of credit— quite often due to some kind of banking/financial crisis, shrinking output and investment, numerous bankruptcies— including sovereign debt defaults, significantly reduced amounts of trade and commerce— especially international, as well as highly volatile relative currency value fluctuations— most often due to devaluations. Price deflation, financial crises and bank failures are also common elements of a depression."

"There is no widely agreed definition for a depression, though some have been proposed. In the United States the National Bureau of Economic Research determines contractions and expansions in the business cycle, but does not declare depressions.[1]

"Generally, periods labeled depressions are marked by a substantial and sustained shortfall of the ability to purchase goods relative to the amount that could be produced using current resources and technology (potential output).[2] Another proposed definition of depression includes two general rules: 1) a decline in real GDP exceeding 10%, or 2) a recession lasting 2 or more years."

MEET THE PRESS: DEBATING THE TEA PARTY

Dick Armey does a great job debating the Tea Party's point of view. His opponent, however, thinks progress is only possible when the government is involved. This is the mindset we're up against.

URGENT MESSAGE FROM TPX--ON THE GROUND IN ALASKA

Late last night we put out an urgent alert about the U.S. Senate race in Alaska. There are now only 10 days until this critical election that will determine whether we can stop the Liberal Republicans + Liberal Democrats teaming up to force our nation down a path towards socialism.

We explained that we needed to raise $75,000 in the next 3 days for the tea party conservative constitutionalist candidate, Joe Miller.

Since we sent that email we have raised just $5,500. Our staff at the Tea Party Express are very saddened by this failure on our part. We've spent the past 4 weeks in Alaska campaigning for Joe Miller, and have seen something first-hand that explains why this national tea party movement exists.

Friends, the GOP establishment up here is corrupt, dishonest and soulless. We've come to see what Gov. Sarah Palin had to fight against. We've come to see why so many of you who are conservative bristle at being called "Republicans." It is no longer about ideals or principles or the fight for America amongst those in the GOP establishment. And in Alaska the establishment is perhaps more corrupt than anywhere else.

Senator Lisa Murkowski is one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate. She's voted with the Democrats over her own party more than 300 times. She's pushed forward with amnesty and taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens. She's voted for the bank bailouts. She co-sponsored the original Cap & Trade. She said we needed a government-run healthcare system and then announced her opposition to repealing ObamaCare after it passed.

And guess what - the Republican establishment up here covers for her, lies for her and manipulates people for her. It's been so disheartening to watch.

So we MUST defeat this RINO Republican and elect Conservative Republican Joe Miller. But since Murkowski has sold her soul to the special interests and lobbyists she's raised over $2.5 million - most of it from out of state.

We have to raise the money to be competitive for Joe Miller and give him the chance to win. And with your help we can do this. Please, make a donation. Ask your friends to donate.

Forward this email to other conservatives you know. We can only win this race if we all work together. And for the good of America we must do just that.

You can do your part by making a contribution.

Some of you can afford a more generous contribution of $100, $500, $1,000 or even $5,000.

And boy do we need your help to level the playing field and make sure that the conservative candidate - Joe Miller wins.

You can make a donation to our campaign for Joe Miller - HERE.

You can give as little as $5 and as much as $5,000 under FEC laws and regulations. How about we get 1,000 conservatives to give $100 or more in the next 24 hours to defeat RINO Lisa Murkowski.

If you prefer you can mail in a contribution payable to "Tea Party Express" to our headquarters:

Tea Party Express
770 L Street #1020
Sacramento, CA 95814

Now let's go win this race! We've got a lot of work still left to do if we are truly going to change Congress in the 2010 elections.

AMERICANS "PULLING A CORK" MORE OFTEN--updated

PRINCETON, NJ -- Sixty-seven percent of U.S. adults drink alcohol, a slight increase over last year and the highest reading recorded since 1985 by one percentage point. Beer remains the favorite beverage among drinkers, followed by wine and then liquor.--Continue reading.

Drinking alcohol to excess is no laughing matter. But during stressful times, here and abroad, certain segments of society look for an outlet in hopes of easing what stresses them. Outside of social consumption, it's never the right approach. Comedy, however, is a great reliever of stress, even when it's about drinking too much. The Tonight Show, Starring Johnny Carson brought us many moments about drinking a bit too much, and here's a couple classics. Enjoy.

UPDATE: Newsy.com has a video report on this spike in drinking.
